In the past year, we’ve lived our mission in ways we could never have imagined.

We never closed our doors, and in fact, we opened them wider. When we were called to serve the children of first responders and essential workers, we said yes without hesitation. Just like our founders did in 1899, we quickly created a place for children to be loved, to be safe, and equally important, to continue to grow and thrive.

One hundred years from now, it is impossible to predict what a similar reflection might look like. And yet, it is hard to imagine a year it will have mattered more.

This year alone, we:

Granted over $13 million to Indiana’s quality child care providers to assist with safety-related expenses during the pandemic.

Created and distributed campaign resources to more than 200 providers to help them implement new health and safety measures and inspire confidence in the families they serve.

Supported nearly 175 educators across the state in achieving their Child Development Associate, a credential that will advance their careers and increase their classroom effectiveness

Where Your Dollars Go

Early Learning Indiana uses grants and the generous donations of individuals, companies and organizations to ensure every child is empowered with essential skills to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. Here’s how we’re making a difference.

Quality early learning leads to lower incidence of grade repetition, higher graduation rates and improved self-sufficiency.

Parents can go to work with confidence knowing their children are engaged in quality early learning and care.

We’re partnering with higher education institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen the attraction, preparation and retention of the early learning workforce.

Every child and family – regardless of location or economic status – deserves access to high-quality early learning and care.
