Staff Spotlight: Denise Hancock

Early Learning Indiana is on a mission to ensure every child is empowered with essential skills to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. Our mission cannot be accomplished without organized and passionate individuals working towards a common goal. Denise Hancock is Early Learning Indiana’s Executive Coordinator and is one of the key organizers that ensure goals are met.

On Administrative Professionals Day, we recognize Denise’s hard-work and dedication and would like share more about Denise and her work.

What is your role at Early Learning Indiana?
Executive Coordinator.

How long have you worked at Early Learning Indiana?
17 years.

What did you do before coming to Early Learning Indiana?
I spent 20 years at another nonprofit serving children and families with Muscular Dystrophy.

What are some of your day-to-day tasks?
Scheduling & keeping track of Lead Team calendars; Ensuring centers have the COVID supplies; processing donations and donor correspondence.

What do you like most about your job?
I love variety and working with all the different individuals from the Lead team to center directors to teachers and seeing the children when I help out in the centers.

What is a project you have really enjoyed being a part of?
Day of Impact – working with volunteers and center staff to refresh the centers

How do you like to spend your free time?
Anyone who knows me, knows that 95% of my free time is spent with my granddaughter Jaidlynn.  She plays travel softball so I do it all with her (practice, games, pitching lessons, etc.).

What would be your dream job?
I would love to work and live on a ranch.

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I can’t swim…sink lie a rock!
