Early Learning Indiana Reacts to Announcement of New ‘On My Way Pre-K’ Counties

For Immediate Release: June 7, 2017

Early Learning Indiana President and CEO Ted Maple released the following statement this afternoon in response to the state’s designation of 15 new counties for participation in the state’s ‘On My Way Pre-K’ program.

“As we know from years of study and the experiences of other states, access to high-quality pre-K gives children a strong start to school and life. Today’s announcement is another positive step Indiana is making to bring this opportunity to more Hoosier families. We congratulate the 15 counties who were selected today and pledge our assistance to them as we work to ensure a smooth and quick implementation.”

The new counties added to the On My Way Pre-K program are Bartholomew, DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Floyd, Grant, Harrison, Howard, Kosciusko, Madison, Marshall, Monroe, St. Joseph, Tippecanoe and Vigo. More information can be found here.

Earlier this week, Early Learning Indiana released its annual report on the state of pre-K along with recommendations for future expansion. That full report can be found here.
