I’d like to remind you of a great source of information for monthly milestones in your child’s development during their first three years. It is called From Baby to Big Kid and it is a monthly email you can receive each month from ZERO TO THREE with information that parallels your child’s age. ZERO TO THREE’s approach to parent education is based on the belief that parents are the true experts on their children, and that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to raising children. Here you will read about common experiences parents have as their babies approach specific age, like, at eleven months, walking into your baby’s room and seeing her standing up inside her crib, looking back at you with a big grin.
Here’s another example: Did you know that 11-month-olds are learning to predict cause and effect? In one research study,11-month-olds watched a plastic bug on wheels get bumped by a large cylinder rolling down a track. Then the toy bug got bumped again by a small cylinder. Researchers watched how babies responded to these “collisions.” You can read what they discovered and have more great info delivered to your email box each month by subscribing here.
